Abstract
Title: Service Component Architecture
This talk with introduce the Service Component Architecture (SCA). SCA is a series of standards that are being developed by a consortium of software vendors including Oracle, SAP, IBM, BEA and Sun Microsystems. The talk will explore why these standards will be foundational to Service Oriented Architectures and how they are likely to impact vendor platforms. We’ll also discuss how Java developers will be directly impacted by SCA in two contexts: J2EE and the Spring framework.

Greg Pavlik, Oracle
Greg Pavlik is Architect at Oracle Corporation, a role in which he works on a combination of technology strategy, product development and standards. He is currently responsible for Oracle’s SOA and Web services technology. Greg was chief architect and distinguished engineer at Hewlett Packard’s application division and a senior architect at Bluestone Software. He frequently writes and speaks on topics related to integration, service oriented solutions, grid computing and transaction processing. His latest book is Java Transaction Processing (Prentice Hall, 2004). His also maintains a blog on related topics at http://gregpavlik.blogspot.com.
